When something happens and you share it with someone for the first time, you remember all the details- who, what, where, when, why, how. But as you start telling it more and more, you begin to pass on the details. Maybe you start by passing out on the exact details of what he/ she said – from the exact words to paraphrasing it. Then slowly, instead of telling the whole story of how things happened, or of how things fell apart, you tell it in a few lines. Or not at all.
And with time, you forget the details and the memory of what happened starts to fade.
They say that with time, you’ll forget and the feelings will fade, eventually. What they do not tell you is that sometimes, you can forget the details, have the memory fade, but sometimes, the feelings are only thing left.
